Ellis Medicine is Once Again Recognized as a ‘Healthiest Employer’ of the Capital Region!

Ellis Medicine has been recognized as a 2022 Healthiest Employers of the Capital Region, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population.

We were the only hospital in the Capital Region on the list, though locally based health insurers such as MVP and CDPHP were also named. In all, 16 Capital Region companies made the cut for 2022.

One factor that set us apart is our Healthy ME program, which promotes wellness through a variety of activities and events, while providing access to health and wellness resources and generous discounts on health insurance premiums. In the past year, program participation has increased by an impressive 30 percent, the awards sponsors reported.

“There is not a harder job on the planet than being charged with being a frontline responder during COVID,” Deb Solomon, Ellis Chief Human Resources Officer, told the awards committee. “The responsibility of keeping those that are providing this care, well and whole, is paramount in Ellis being able to care for our community.”

The Healthiest Employers awards are run by Springbuk, a software platform specializing in workplace wellness. This award comes on the heels of the Albany Business Review’s Healthiest Employers honors, which Ellis won three years running—a testament to our Healthy ME program.

As part of the awards program, Ellis was evaluated across six key categories: Culture and Leadership, Foundational Components, Strategic Planning, Communication and Marketing, Programming and Interventions, and Reporting and Analytics.

MVP LIVING WELL PROGRAMS HAS MOVED!

From now on, you can register for all MVP Commercial Living Well Programs on our MVP Living Well Programs Calendar link: Live a Healthy Lifestyle | MVP Health Care. This includes upcoming amazing programs brought to you in partnership with the Mental Health Association in NY and the Alzheimer’s Association!

  • MHANY Mind Body Health and Healing: Wednesday, November 3 | 12-1 pm

For those of us under chronic stress or managing our mental health its helpful to be aware of emotions and attend to them quickly. Tending to them quickly ensures we will not carry them with us throughout the day, week, month and for some of us years. Taking a leadership role over our thoughts will ensure our emotions don’t have a life of their own.

  • MHANY Creating a Wellness Mindset: Wednesday, December 1 | 12-1 pm

Learn the characteristics needed for a wellness mindset. A sense of well-being is the integration  of  body, mind and spirit; and the appreciation that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an impact on our health. This presentation provides a framework for how to create a ‘wellness mindset’ that will support the practice of continuous self-care.

  • Alzheimer’s Association® Healthy Living For Your Brain and Body: Tuesday, November 2 | 12-1 pm

This program, brought to you by The Alzheimer’s Association®, provides information and tips on healthy aging. At any age, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. These habits may also help to keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline.

  • Alzheimer’s Association® 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s: Friday, November 12 | 12-1 pm

A new 1-hour program that explores the common warning signs of Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause memory, thinking and behavior problems that interfere with daily living. The Alzheimer’s Association® developed the new 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s education program to help people recognize common signs of the disease and know what to watch for in themselves and others.
