Ellis Medicine is Once Again Recognized as a ‘Healthiest Employer’ of the Capital Region!

Ellis Medicine has been recognized as a 2022 Healthiest Employers of the Capital Region, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population.

We were the only hospital in the Capital Region on the list, though locally based health insurers such as MVP and CDPHP were also named. In all, 16 Capital Region companies made the cut for 2022.

One factor that set us apart is our Healthy ME program, which promotes wellness through a variety of activities and events, while providing access to health and wellness resources and generous discounts on health insurance premiums. In the past year, program participation has increased by an impressive 30 percent, the awards sponsors reported.

“There is not a harder job on the planet than being charged with being a frontline responder during COVID,” Deb Solomon, Ellis Chief Human Resources Officer, told the awards committee. “The responsibility of keeping those that are providing this care, well and whole, is paramount in Ellis being able to care for our community.”

The Healthiest Employers awards are run by Springbuk, a software platform specializing in workplace wellness. This award comes on the heels of the Albany Business Review’s Healthiest Employers honors, which Ellis won three years running—a testament to our Healthy ME program.

As part of the awards program, Ellis was evaluated across six key categories: Culture and Leadership, Foundational Components, Strategic Planning, Communication and Marketing, Programming and Interventions, and Reporting and Analytics.
